At Ocean View P-12 College, we prioritise a smooth and positive start to high school for all our students and families, whether they are continuing at OVC or joining us from another primary school. Here’s how we support this important transition period:
Teacher Profile Interviews
We conduct teacher profile interviews to help our teachers get to know important information that will support us to make a smooth transition for young people.
Learner Profile Interviews
We meet with all students and their families and hold learner profile interviews to gain a deeper understanding of each student’s strengths, interests, and needs, helping them settle confidently into high school. This is also an opportunity to answer any questions and organise extra transition activities if needed.
Year 7 Start Well Transition Evening
Our Start Well Transition Evening is designed for incoming Year 7 students and their families. The event provides essential information, introduces key staff, and outlines the journey ahead.
Statewide Transition Days
We participate in Statewide Transition Days, providing students with valuable opportunities to connect, explore new environments, and build confidence as they begin high school.
We are committed to supporting every student through these transition activities, encouraging a sense of belonging and readiness as they embark on their high school years at Ocean View P-12 College.
