8 Food & Nutrition

Students continue to explore Food and Health issues relating to adolescence, with a focus on food preparation skills, and basic nutrition to improve their health and well-being. Topics include safe work habits, understanding recipe terminology, recipe adaptation, time management, kitchen routines, and healthy eating guide.

Practical skills include: using kitchen equipment and safe food handling to create healthy breakfasts· with emphasis on working safely with basic food preparation skills. Health units include: understanding of themselves as they grow and change with a sense of belonging, Knowledge to make informed decisions about lifestyle and health issues, importance of good nutrition to improve health and performance, Students will critically reflect on their performance after practical experiences.
