8 Food & Nutrition

Students explore Food and Health issues for adolescence through practical learning experiences with food and Inquiry Based Learning. Topics include safety and hygiene, recipe adaptation, time and kitchen management, food preparation skills, along with basic nutrition and health issues to improve their health and well-being.
Practical skills include: using kitchen equipment and appliances to create healthy snacks and breakfasts· with emphasis on working safely with basic food preparation skills. Health units include: understanding of themselves as they grow and change with a sense of belonging, Knowledge to make informed decisions about lifestyle and health issues, importance of good nutrition to improve health and performance, Students will critically reflect on their performance after practical experiences.
