7 Food & Nutrition

Students will explore Food and Health issues relating to adolescence through practical learning experiences with food and Inquiry Based Learning. Topics include safety and hygiene, working in the kitchen, food preparation skills, along with basic nutrition and health issues to improve their health and well-being.

The focus during practical lessons will be on kitchen routines, safe use of equipment and appliances, basic food preparation skills as well as the Healthy Eating Guide. Health topics include: Knowledge to make informed decisions about lifestyle and health issues, importance of good nutrition to improve health and performance. Students will critically reflect on their performance after practical experiences.
