Leading Logistics

Imagine life without logistics – nothing would get from A to B. Shops would be virtually empty, you wouldn’t have fuel for your car, and the ‘order now’ button would be obsolete.
The maritime and logistics industries are booming. Thanks to international trade and online shopping, there are more goods and services being transported around the globe than ever before.  In fact more than 99.9% of Australia's import and export trade is carried by ships.
Logistics is: the right product, in the right quantity, in the right condition, delivered to the right customer, at the right place, at the right time, at the right cost.
In 2014 and beyond Ocean View College, in collaboration with Le Fevre Peninsula Partnership Schools, envision the establishment of curriculum offerings in logistics to create local, national and international connections for regional secondary school students to ‘jump start’ their careers in the  opportunistic  world of logistics, transport and procurement
Ocean View College will:

  • Establish new business partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships to create sustainable links to industry pathways for students.
  • Provide high quality instruction and trade training facilities that meet industry standards in logistics and related occupations.

Establishing strategic partnerships is vital to:

  • Provide advice for relevant curriculum delivery that is aligned and recognised within the industry
  • Outsource expertise to best support the training needs of our staff and students, including the delivery of specific competencies
  • Accessing services for structured workplace training, site visits and mentorship.

The Making Smart Moves - Logistics program at Ocean View College would provide students who enjoy hands-on activities, the opportunity to learn non-technical skills in areas such as problem solving, teamwork, communication, innovation, and personal initiative: the core skills employers across all industries seek, as well as gaining the Certificate II in Logistics qualification from the Transport and Logistics Training Package.
