Invoices for Materials and Services Charge (also referred to as school fees or M&S Charge) were posted early January 2018. Section 106A of the Education Act the Chief Executive gives approval for the Ocean View R-12 College Materials & Services Charge as determined by The Governing Council for the forthcoming academic year for R-12 as below, to be legally recoverable amounts for 2018.
Fees are due to be paid by end of Term 1, 13th April, 2018.
- Please pay M&S charges at office in main building. You may pay with cash, cheque, EFTPOS, credit card (Visa or MasterCard), Instalment/ Direct Debit or Centrepay (see notes below). If you are unable to attend on these days, you may call us with your credit card details (8248 1422). Payments may also be made online via the OVC website. You may lodge your School Card Application during fee collection days. Forms are available at the Main Office.

PAYING M&S CHARGE BY INSTALMENT 2018.
The DECD direct debit by instalment facility will enable parents to complete an agreement for schools to deduct from the parent’s nominated bank or credit/debit card, an agreed amount either each week, fortnight or month until the full debt is paid. Please talk to our Finance Manager Meridee McClean for instalment applications, school card forms or any further information.
The 2018 School Card Grant for Primary Students will be $235.00 and for Secondary Students $310.00. Eligibility is assessed on taxable income for the 2016/2017 Financial Year. A copy of your concession card is required. Forms are available at the Main Office or can be downloaded from www.sa.gov.au - search School Card. (Please note if you are eligible for School Card in 2018, any payment of the Materials and Services Charge Gap is Voluntary.)
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO LODGE A NEW SCHOOL CARD APPLICATION EACH YEAR
Use Centrepay to make regular Deductions from your Centrelink payments. Centrepay is a voluntary and easy payment option available to Centrelink customers. Go to humanservices.gov.au/Centrepay for more information and to set up your Centrepay Deductions.
Costs for excursions, camps and larger school projects ie Tech Studies projects, VET Charge, Musical Instrument Hire etc have not been included in the 2018 Materials & Services Charge. Semester 1 Subject Charges will be invoiced in January, but please note there will be more Subject Charges for Years 9-12 for Semester 2, in July, 2018.
The school must receive payment for subject charge before students can use these services or take part in these co-curricular activities.
Years 6-12 students will be provided with a free initial ID card. Replacement cards will cost students $11.00 (GST inc). Current ID cards are valid until 28th February 2018. School photos for Year 6-12 will be taken on Friday 9th February - these photos will be used for ID cards as well as being available for purchase.
STUDENT SCHOOL PHOTOS
ALL R-12 student photos will be taken on Friday 9th February, 2018. Family photos will be taken in the morning. Payments can be made online directly to the photographer by visiting www.advancedlife.com.au and enter the code: E1C BML ADY Cash payment envelopes will come home with students on the first day of term.
Parents of eligible Aboriginal secondary students must apply for ABSTUDY AND SCHOOL CARD each year. Abstudy should be applied for at Centrelink and School Card at the school.
BOOKS – (library and text)
Issued to student, remain the property of the school and must be returned in good order and condition at the end of the borrowing period. If books (library and text) are not returned by the end of a school year, student/s will be invoiced and expect to pay the cost of replacement. If any book suffers accidental damage, please return it to the library for repair or replacement. All books must be returned at the end of the year.
Reception - 5 will be given to students at the beginning of the year – replacement cost is $11.00 (GST inc).
Your child will start the year with the following printing allocations: Junior School $5.00 (GST Free); Middle School $10.00 (GST Free); and Senior School $20.00 (GST Free);. When this allocation is exhausted, students will be required to purchase more from the Paytec machine in the Senior School Office. Student ID Cards are required. (Junior School students pay in the Junior School).
Students will be issued with a locker key at the beginning of the year – should your child lose their locker key, they are required to purchase a replacement key - $11.00 (GST inc). Year 12 students have lockers in the Senior Centre and are required to provide their own lock
Stationery can be purchased by students at any stationery shop or discount store. Primary students receive supplies through class teachers.
